What to Know
The VCU Rams will take on the Syracuse Orange at 5 p.m. ET Wednesday at Imperial Arena at Atlantis Resort. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, VCU now face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.
The Rams were close but no cigar this past Saturday as they fell 56-54 to the Chattanooga Mocs. Guard KeShawn Curry had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 32 minutes but putting up just nine points.
Meanwhile, ‘Cuse received a tough blow this past Saturday as they fell 100-85 to the Colgate Raiders. If the result catches you off guard, it should: the Orange were far and away the favorite. Despite the defeat, they got a solid performance out of guard Joseph Girard III, who shot 5-for-8 from downtown and finished with 27 points, eight dimes and seven rebounds.
Both teams will surely be fighting tooth and nail to get back into the win column after losses this week. The teams are out to make things right after dropping matches they were expected to win, so stay tuned to see which squad bounces back.
