UFC 300 odds, predictions, start time, Las Vegas fight card: Pereira vs. Hill picks, bets from MMA insider
Written by CBS SPORTS ALL RIGHTS RESERVED on April 11, 2024
A pair of rising stars will meet Saturday in the main event of a jam-packed UFC 300 card as light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira defends his title against former champion Jamahal Hill. Their five-round showdown caps a title-fight doubleheader on the main UFC fight card from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Last November, Pereira won the light heavyweight title that was vacated by Hill, who has been sidelined for the past 16 months with a knee injury. Now, Hill will attempt to reclaim the title against an imposing figure in Pereira, who has won titles in two separate divisions in just seven total UFC appearances.
Pereira is a -125 betting favorite (risk $125 to win $100), while Hill is offered at +105 in the UFC 300 odds. In the co-main event, women’s strawweight champion Zhang Weili (-480) defends her belt against challenger Yan Xiaonan (+360). Anyone who has followed him has seen massive returns.

UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill preview
The UFC 300 card will be noted in the history books for its depth of quality from the first fight to the last. The opening fight of the preliminary card features a battle of former world champions squaring off in Deiveson Figueiredo and Cody Garbandt, while the main card is topped by a pair of UFC championship bouts.
Pereira (9-2) was fast-tracked to the top of the middleweight rankings primarily because of his kickboxing rivalry with former champion Israel Adesanya. At the time, the UFC was running short on qualified challengers for Adesanya and signed Pereira after just his fourth professional MMA fight.
The bold move paid off as the Brazilian would go on to upset Adesanya and win the middleweight title before moving up to light heavyweight and earning a second belt. In seven UFC appearances, the 36-year-old is 6-1 with four stoppages and belts in two separate divisions.
The versatile Hill (12-1-1) saw his own rapid ascent up the light heavyweight rankings result in a title when he outclassed former champion Glover Teixeira in January of last year in a five-round decision. However, the 32-year-old has been shelved ever since because of an ACL injury that required surgery and forced him to vacate the title.
Even so, Hill, who is known for his explosive striking, maintains he is now at full health and prepared to reclaim the title. He has received performance bonuses in four consecutive fights. You can see more UFC 300 picks at SportsLine.
UFC 300 predictions
We’ll share one of Vithlani’s UFC 300 selections here: He is going with Aljamain Sterling (-170) to get his hand raised against Calvin Kattar (+130) in a featherweight matchup on the preliminary card.
Sterling (23-4) is the former bantamweight king who is making his long-anticipated move to featherweight after losing his title to Sean O’Malley in August of last year. The loss snapped a nine-fight winning streak for the 34-year-old Sterling, a New York native who is one of the UFC’s most decorated grapplers.
Kattar (23-7) is a seven-year UFC veteran who has spent the bulk of his career in the top-10 rankings. He is known for his boxing style and action-packed brawls. But a knee injury has shelved the 36-year-old Boston native since October 2022, and he returns to the octagon looking to snap a two-fight skid.
“Unless Kattar can put damage on Sterling early, I feel he will most likely get taken down and controlled on the mat,” Vithlani told SportsLine. You can see more UFC 300 picks at SportsLine.
