Most obvious is that Russell Wilson (finger) will be sidelined for the first time in his career, paving the way for Geno Smith to start. Also missing in Seattle’s backfield is running back Chris Carson, who was placed on injured reserve with a neck injury this week. Carson’s backup, Alex Collins, was serviceable in his place with 72 yards from scrimmage last week. Collins is expected to be among the most popular NFL DFS picks on Sunday.
As for Smith, the veteran quarterback has been a journeyman backup since leaving New York and is getting his first real opportunity as a starter since then. One of McClure’s top NFL DFS picks for Sunday Night Football is Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Big Ben had his best game in over a year in Week 5 as his 120.9 passer rating was his second-highest since the 2018 season. Roethlisberger threw for 253 yards and two scores against the league’s No. 2 scoring defense in Denver.
That’s a great sign for his fortunes in Week 6 as he goes from facing Denver’s elite defense to Seattle’s league-worst defense. The Seahawks rank dead last in yards allowed and have also allowed the third-most passing yards in the NFL this season. Seattle has allowed at least 300 passing yards in four straight games despite many of those opposing QBs not being amongst the elite. Roethlisberger seemed to get back on track last week and should have continued success on Sunday Night Football.

No wideout got out to a hotter start to the season than Lockett, who posted 12 receptions for 278 yards and three touchdowns through the first two games. Pittsburgh has allowed the third-most Fantasy points to opposing receivers this season as its once-ferocious defense isn’t quite as fearsome. The Steelers have allowed seven receiving TDs to opposing wideouts over the last three weeks alone, and they’ve allowed numerous players to go off as those seven scores came from five different players. Wilson’s injury just means Seattle is expected to be trailing quite often in this game and that would present more opportunities for Lockett.
