New Music Friday presents the latest and greatest music of the week, and this time is no different. Here’s some new tunes to consider adding to your playlists.
NLE Choppa, Cottonwood 2 — The 22-track album is the rapper’s attempt at redemption since he feels he kinda “messed up my breakout year,” he told BET.
Young Bleu, Love Scars II — The follow-up to 2020’s Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions features 15 songs and appearances from Ty Dolla $ign, Tink and Chris Brown.
Ice Spice & Nicki Minaj, “Princess Diana” — Ice’s “Princess Diana” now has a version with bars from Nicki. The song and video come after Nicki shared Ice’s Dazed cover, which called the young star the “people’s princess.”
Kodak Black, “No Love for a Thug” — The rapper longs for love on the slow track. “I’m wondering, is therе no love for a thug?” he sings. “Do anybody got a soft spot for a menace?”
Jorja Smith, “Try Me” — The singer returns with the new song and accompanying visual. She says it’s “the first time I’m putting stuff out there that I can connect with right now.”
Ciara, Lola Brooke, Lady London, “Da Girls (Girls Mix)” — In the new visual, the girls have fun in a luxurious mansion while rapping lyrics intended to uplift “da girls.”
