One of Sallee’s top college football picks for Week 6: He’s backing No. 1 Alabama and Texas A&M to go over the total when those SEC West squads meet on CBS at 8 p.m. ET. Sallee locked in his pick when the total was at 51, and that line has dropped half a point since then.
Texas A&M has failed to force a turnover in its last two games, which does not bode well against an Alabama team that leads the SEC in turnover margin. To make matters worse, the Aggies are without two of their starting cornerbacks due to injury. Alabama has been rolling offensively, scoring at least 40 points in four of its five games this season.
The Crimson Tide are led by sophomore quarterback Bryce Young, who is the current Heisman Trophy favorite and has thrown the fourth-most touchdowns (17) of any quarterback in the country. Alabama’s defense is going to force Texas A&M to throw the ball on Saturday night. The Crimson Tide have scored at least 45 points in each of their last three meetings with the Aggies and are in a position to do so again this week.
