Sassuolo vs. AC Milan odds, picks, how to watch: Aug. 30, 2022 Italian Serie A predictions, bets

Despite famed striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic needing ACL surgery at the end of last season, AC Milan signed him to another year-long contract knowing that he wouldn’t be available until after the start of 2023. In the meantime, the Rossoneri have an Italian Serie A title defense to tend to, with their latest test to come against Sassuolo on Paramount+. Olivier Giroud will lead the attack for AC Milan on Tuesday, and he scored twice in the last meeting between the two sides in May. You can catch all the action when you stream the match now on Paramount+.

Kickoff from Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia, Italy is set for 12:30 p.m. ET on Tuesday. The latest AC Milan vs. Sassuolo odds from Caesars Sportsbook list AC Milan as the -175 favorites (risk $175 to win $100) on the 90-minute money line, with Sassuolo as the +450 underdog. A draw is priced at +325 and the over/under for total goals scored is 3.5. Tuesday’s match will be streamed live on Paramount+ with their must-have Premium plan.

Italian Serie A picks for Sassuolo vs. AC Milan

Before tuning into Tuesday’s match, you need to see the Italian Serie A picks from soccer insider Brandt Sutton. Sutton, a former collegiate soccer player, has been SportsLine’s top soccer editor for more than five years. He has followed soccer closely for much longer and factors in managerial tactics, projected lineups and past performances to make the most-informed decisions possible, keeping his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe. Sutton also has been on a roll with his Serie A best bets since the start of 2022, going 52-28 in his last 80 picks, returning more than $1,700 for $100 bettors.

For AC Milan vs. Sassuolo, Sutton is backing Milan to win on the money line for a -175 payout. Giroud has already scored one of the Rossoneri’s seven goals to start the season, and his club will need him to score again on Tuesday. Milan forward Ante Rebic leads the team with two goals, but will miss the match against the Black and Greens with back soreness. Giroud was Milan’s co-leader for goals scored with 11 last season, along with Rafael Leao, who put in his first goal this season on Saturday against Bologna.

Besides Milan’s success in their attack, they have been remarkably successful on defense and lead Serie A in successful defensive pressures (131). Two of Sassuolo’s top three scorers from last season aren’t with the club to start 2022, and Milan’s defense certainly aren’t going to cut their opponents any slack. Sutton believes that Sassuolo’s diminished firepower and Milan’s stifling back line should make for a low-scoring Rossoneri victory.

“These two teams have combined for Under 3.5 goals in six of their last seven meetings in Serie A,” Sutton told SportsLine. “AC Milan’s squad depth is far more experienced and talented than Sassuolo and I expect the road team to collect all three points on Tuesday.”
