For the first month of the season it’s hard to call Kyle Pitts anything but a bust. He ranks 19th in Fantasy points behind the likes of Maxx Williams and C.J. Uzomah . He’s been outscored by both of the Eagles tight ends.
But this is no victory lap from me. Because if you told me Pitts would have 26 targets in his first four NFL games , I would have never told you he was going to be a bust.
Pitts currently ranks seventh among NFL tight ends in both targets and yards. He’s 12th in catches. He’s the No. 2 option on a Falcons passing offense that looks like it’s settling in. And he gets the Jets in Week 5.
No, this is not a victory lap. This is a word of encouragement to all who drafted Pitts and an exhortation to those of you who didn’t. Kyle Pitts should be in your lineup. If you drafted him, that’s easy enough. You don’t have to do anything. If you avoided him, now is the chance to acquire him for much less than it cost on Draft Day. But the window could be closing any week.
