Elizabeth Hoffman, best known for her role as Beatrice Reed Ventnor, the mother of Swoosie Kurtz, Sela Ward, Patricia Kalember and Julianne Phillips‘ characters on the NBC drama Sisters, died August 21 of natural causes at her home in Malibu, her son Chris tells The Hollywood Reporter. She was 97. Hoffman’s other prominent roles included Eleanor Roosevelt in The Winds of War and War and Remembrance and Meryl Streep’s mother in The River Wild. Neil Gaiman‘s fantasy series Good Omens will get a third and possibly final season on Prime Video, according to Deadline.
