MLB DFS: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy baseball picks, lineups, advice, stacks for April 29, 2024

Phillies infielder Alec Bohm enters Monday as one of the hottest hitters in the MLB DFS player pool. Bohm has seven multi-hit games over his last eight contests during his 12-game hitting streak, but should you include him in your MLB DFS picks against the Angels on Monday? Bohm went 3-for-5 on Sunday for his second three-hit game over his last three performances, so is he a strong play for MLB DFS lineups on sites like FanDuel and DraftKings on Monday?

Monday’s MLB schedule features 12 games with nine of them starting after 7 p.m. ET, providing a deep MLB DFS player pool. The Twins enter on a seven-game winning streak and they’ll play the White Sox (6-22). Should your MLB DFS lineups include stacks from Minnesota, or should you target another matchup like Reds vs. Padres or Cubs vs Mets? Before submitting any MLB DFS picks for Monday, be sure to check out the MLB DFS advice, strategy and projections from SportsLine daily Fantasy expert Mike McClure.

McClure is a daily Fantasy pro who has won more than $2 million in his career. And when it comes to daily Fantasy baseball, McClure is at his best. Recognized in the book “Fantasy Football (and Baseball) for Smart People: How to Turn Your Hobby into a Fortune” as a top MLB DFS player, McClure’s proprietary projection model simulates each game 10,000 times, taking factors such as matchups and recent results into account. This allows him to find the best values on every site.

On Thursday, McClure highlighted Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar as one of his top MLB DFS picks on both sites. The result: Profar went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk, returning 25 points on DraftKings and 34.9 points on FanDuel. Anybody who included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.

Now, with the 2024 MLB season rolling, McClure has locked in his top MLB daily Fantasy picks for Monday, April 29. You can head to SportsLine now to see them

McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday

One of McClure’s top MLB DFS picks for Monday is Dodgers designated hitter Shohei Ohtani at $6,500 on DraftKings and $4,400 on FanDuel. Ohtani has been arguably the best player in baseball over the last four seasons and he continues to showcase why in his first season with the Dodgers. Ohtani has seven home runs, tied for the third most in the league, after hitting 44 home runs with the Angels last season. Ohtani has averaged 41.3 home runs over the last three seasons entering this year and he led baseball in slugging percentage (.654) and OPS (1.066) last season.

Ohtani, a left-handed hitter, has a home run and a walk in three career plate appearances against Diamondbacks probable left-handed pitcher Tommy Henry. The 26-year-old LHP has a 5.55 ERA over five starts this season. The Diamondbacks host the Dodgers on Monday and Henry has struggled at home this season. He’s allowed five runs and never made it out of the fifth inning in each of his first starts at Chase Field this season. McClure expects Ohtani to put together strong at-bats against Henry and the Arizona bullpen on Monday.

McClure is also rostering Phillies shortstop Trea Turner at $6,200 on DraftKings and $3,600 on FanDuel. Turner has two home runs, nine RBI, 23 runs scored and seven stolen bases with a slash line of .339/.389/.471 this season. Turner is coming off hitting 26 home runs last season after closing out the regular season as one of the best hitters in baseball. He’s carrying that success into his second season since signing an 11-year, $300 million contract with Philadelphia.

The Angels are starting Griffin Canning, who has a 7.50 ERA over five starts this season. Canning allowed three runs over five innings against the Orioles on April 23 in his last outing. He is allowing 11.3 hits over nine innings this season with a 1.54 WHIP as he’s allowing base runners at an alarming rate. He ranks in the bottom 25% of starting pitching in nearly every key metric, including average exit velocity, strikeout rate and barrel percentage. Turner is at the 78 percentile for hard-hit rate this season as the metrics favor a strong showing from Turner for MLB DFS lineups. See McClure’s full MLB DFS player pool at SportsLine.
