Watch Kanye West and Travis Scott's new video for "Wash Us In the Blood"

Written by on June 30, 2020

Def JamKanye West returns with a new song and video for “Wash Us In the Blood,” featuring Travis Scott.

The “Calm-Ye” addresses his opposition to the death penalty, without saying the full word “incarceration.”

Kanye raps, “Wash us in the blood, whole life being thugs, no choice, sellin’ drugs, genocide, what it does, mass incarc, cost of cause, what it does, another life being lost.”

The song was mixed by the legendary Dr. Dre with production from BoogzDaBeastRonny JFNZ, and Dem Jointz, as a preview of Kanye’s upcoming album, God’s Country.

The Arthur Jafa-directed video opens with police sirens and a preacher’s powerful delivery, reminiscent of Kanye’s memorable Sunday Service performances.

It also features scenes from Ye’s Saint Pablo Tour, an appearance from his daughter North West, and also footage of protests, including a viral clip of a male Fort Lauderdale, Florida police officer who was reprimanded by a black colleague for shoving a female protester to the ground earlier this month.

“Wash Us In the Blood” is available for pre-order on Kanye’s official website in various formats, including a 12-inch picture disc, 7-inch red vinyl, red cassette, CD, and a digital single.
