What to Know
The Washington Football Team will take on the Seattle Seahawks at 8:15 p.m. ET on Monday at FedEx Field. Washington will be strutting in after a win while Seattle will be stumbling in from a defeat.
It was all tied up 14-14 at the half for Washington and the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday, but Washington stepped up in the second half for a 27-21 victory. Washington QB Taylor Heinicke was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 206 yards on 22 attempts.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks came up short against the Arizona Cardinals this past Sunday, falling 23-13. One thing working slightly against Seattle was the run-of-the-mill game of their most targeted running back, RB Alex Collins, who rushed for 36 yards on ten carries.
This next game is expected to be close, with Washington going off at just a 1-point favorite. They hadn’t treated bettors all too well in the past (they are 3-7), but they might be worth taking a chance on now after beating the spread two games in a row.
Washington is now 4-6 while Seattle sits at 3-7. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Washington is second worst in the league in passing touchdowns allowed, with 24 on the season. Seattle has experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the second most yards allowed per game in the NFL, having given up 401.8 on average. It’s possible one of these Achilles’ heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
