Super Bowl 2022: CeeDee Lamb on how Cowboys can reach the big game and prediction for Bengals-Rams

Despite finishing the season at 12-5 and as the No. 3 seed in the NFC, the Dallas Cowboys‘ 2021 campaign didn’t live up to the hype that many anticipated as it lacked a deep playoff run. Mike McCarthy’s club was one-and-done in the postseason thanks to a home loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Super Wild Card Weekend, which featured a questionable QB draw on the final play of the game

That loss continues what has been a long-running Super Bowl drought for the Cowboys, who have struggled to make a deep playoff run over the last few decades. The last time they reached the NFC Championship came back during the 1995 season when they won Super Bowl XXX. The franchise hasn’t been to the divisional round since the 2018 season.

“We just got to be more consistent throughout the season and honestly just keep our foot on the pedal,” Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb told CBS Sports HQ on Thursday on what it’ll take for Dallas to get back to the Super Bowl. “Don’t really give up, don’t get too lax, and stay playing together and hold each other accountable. Be our best. Just give it our best and I feel like once we do that it’s hard to stop us.”

While it may not have been as strong of a season as Jerry Jones may have wanted, Lamb did make some strong strides in his second year in the league. Over the regular season, the 2020 first round pick led the Cowboys in receptions and receiving yards, while hauling in six touchdowns.

“I take full responsibility and I take full accountability of honestly just perfecting my craft, being better each year at my position and what I do for a living,” said Lamb. “My second year was definitely a great start. It was a great stepping stone and I’m looking to build off it.”

Of course, Lamb was asked for his prediction of Super Bowl LVI, which features two teams with tremendous depth at the receiver position. For the game, he likes the Rams to win, 31-27. However, it doesn’t think it’ll be a blowout by any means, saying: “Joe Burrow doesn’t go down without a fight.” Lamb’s prediction also included Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford winning Super Bowl MVP.
