Spring practice is in the rearview mirror, which means that we’re hurtling towards the doldrums of summer. The months between April and August are the only time that college football really goes quiet, in a relative sense, which means that the summer is ripe for speculating. And what better way to speculate than by power ranking the SEC teams?

It should be an interesting year for one of the nation’s premier conferences. The SEC, which loves to tout its superiority, was locked out of the College Football Playoff National Championship for a second consecutive season in 2024. This in spite of the fact that the SEC got three bids in the inaugural 12-team playoff, more than any other non-Big Ten conference. Titles are the standard in the South, so the SEC enters 2025 with a chip on its shoulder.

Fortunately for the league, there’s quite a few teams that could battle it out atop the national standings. But how will things play out in the SEC itself?

With the natural caveat that no games have been played yet, and things will likely change between now and the first week of the season, here’s how the SEC stacks up exiting spring practice.
